
Special needs services pose challenge for SUSD
Schools around the state re-opened online this month, posing unique problems for Scottsdale Unified and other districts and families with special-needs students.
Many special-needs students rely on in-person instruction.
Districts must adhere to protections included in federal civil rights law, including 504 plans and IEPs – short for individualized education program – that lay out how schools will address a specific student’s accessibility issues and outline specific goals and services. (click below for more)
